Bilecik Cement Factory – A Strong Reference in Industrial Construction

In 2008, Umut İnşaat took part as both the contractor and investment partner in the construction of the Bilecik Cement Factory, a landmark project that reflects our deep expertise in large-scale industrial facilities.

The project began with ground improvement works, including the execution of bored pile foundations. This was followed by extensive excavation, backfilling, and infrastructure works. The site development included construction of a helicopter pad, landscaping, aboveground and at-grade weighbridge structures, sliding gate systems, and other auxiliary facilities.

One of the most technically challenging parts of the project was the construction of silo structures and a steel-framed pre-structure reaching up to 120 meters in height, with a total of 3,200 tons of steel fabrication and assembly completed. In addition, the internal infrastructure included 2.3 km of utility service tunnels and in-factory conveyor lines.

To meet the high volume of concrete required for the project, an on-site concrete batching plant was installed and operated. Moreover, a mobile crushing and screening plant was set up within the site to supply the necessary stone material for backfilling operations.

Complementary structures such as the administrative building and transformer stations were also constructed as part of the scope. Upon completion, the factory was fully equipped for the production of bulk cement, big bags, and bagged cement, and was delivered as a fully integrated "design and build" project.

Umut İnşaat participated in this project not only as a contractor, but also as one of the investment partners, continuing its involvement during the operational phase of the facility.
