Coats Thread Inc. Braids Production Facility Project

Total Construction Area 1,000 m²

Bursa, Turkey
Completed 2016

Our company has successfully completed the renovation project of the Braids Production Building, with a total construction area of 1,000 m², for Coats İplik A.Ş., one of the established brands in the global textile industry. This project involved the complex and meticulous task of transforming an existing structure into a modern, safe, and efficient production facility. With our turnkey solutions, we built a facility that is fully compatible with Coats' operational needs.

Construction and Conversion Process Details

Demolition and Inventory Management: At the start of the project, the old facade and roof were dismantled in accordance with the existing warehouse's asbestos inventory report to ensure environmental and human health safety. The dismantled materials were safely transported in compliance with environmental regulations. Subsequently, the existing steel and floor concrete were removed to make way for the new structure.

Foundation and Rough Construction: During the reconstruction process, excavation and filling works were carried out to ensure the building was constructed on a solid foundation. Drainage and ground filter drainage systems were installed to manage ground water. Reinforced concrete foundations were poured to ensure structural integrity, and all insulation works were carried out for maximum protection against moisture and water damage. The main load-bearing skeleton of the building was constructed using prefabricated columns, roof and facade steel for speed and efficiency.

Floor and Roof Systems: The factory's outer shell was clad with rock wool panels that provide superior thermal and acoustic insulation, maximizing energy efficiency. Skylights were integrated into the roof to provide natural lighting and energy savings. A modern siphonic system was installed for the rapid and effective drainage of rainwater. Concrete was poured for the interior, exterior, and topping areas to meet the durability requirements of the production processes. A freight elevator was also installed to facilitate logistics operations.

Interior Finishing: Custom manufacturing was carried out taking into account the facility's production processes and employee comfort.

Functional Areas: Modern prayer rooms, restrooms, changing rooms, and shower rooms were completed for employee hygiene and comfort. Interior walls were built with brick to create a lightweight structure.

Coatings and Surfaces: Plastering and painting work was meticulously applied to all surfaces. Aesthetic and functional floor coverings and suspended ceilings were installed.

Doors and Joinery: Industrial doors were installed for ease of transportation and logistics within the factory, and fire doors were installed for safety. Laminate doors, aluminum, and PVC joinery were used. Handrails and stair railings were installed for safety on the stairs.

Technical Infrastructure: All technical infrastructure necessary for the smooth operation of the factory was installed with a focus on efficiency and safety.

Electrical: High-voltage installations were installed along with high- and low-voltage lines to meet the facility's energy needs. Lightning protection, grounding, and fire detection systems were integrated for safety. Emergency announcement and public address systems were installed for potential emergencies. Generators and their installations are also important components of the building for uninterrupted power supply.

Mechanical: Plumbing, heating, cooling, fire, and ventilation systems, which ensure the comfort of the building, have been completed. Fire cabinets and a fire hydrant line have been installed, particularly for fire safety.

This project demonstrates our expertise in converting an existing industrial building to modern standards and our meticulous attention to even the smallest details. The facility we completed for Coats Thread is a testament to your company's complex engineering and project management capabilities.
