As Umut İnşaat, in cooperation with Yapı Merkezi, the BursaRay Light Rail System Project represents a significant urban infrastructure investment aimed at enhancing public transportation within the city. Within the scope of our work, the project encompassed the construction of a total of 2.7 km of light rail transit line across two separate phases, along with numerous complex civil engineering structures.
Main Components of the Project:
2.7 km Light Rail Transit Line:
Throughout the alignment, high-precision civil works were executed for both substructure and superstructure, with ground preparation works completed to the highest standards to accommodate the integration of electromechanical systems.
1 Underpass (Road and Rail System Integration):
The constructed cut-and-cover underpass provides a total road capacity of six lanes—three lanes in each direction. The central median accommodates a bidirectional double-track metro line, enabling integrated planning of rail transit and roadway traffic along the same corridor.
734 Bored Pile Retaining Wall Elements:
To ensure the structural stability of the underpass, a total of 734 bored piles were installed as part of the retaining and earth support system. This operation represented one of the most critical geotechnical phases of the project.
University Section – 500 m Cut-and-Cover Tunnel:
In the University section, a 500-meter-long cut-and-cover tunnel was constructed to allow the line to pass underground. This solution preserved campus continuity while providing optimal safety and efficiency for both traffic and transportation.
Mudanya Section – 2 Stations and 1 Pedestrian Underpass:
In the Mudanya-bound section, two modern station buildings and one pedestrian underpass were constructed. The stations were designed with architectural and technical features to enhance passenger comfort and operational efficiency.
