This project involves the installation of a total of 8 wind turbines, implemented to the highest environmental and engineering standards as part of a comprehensive investment initiative. Executed with approximately 200,000 m³ of excavation, 150,000 m³ of backfilling, 6,000 m³ of concrete works, and 720 tons of steel reinforcement installation, the facility aims to make a significant contribution to sustainable energy generation. From initial site surveys to the final erection of the turbines, all stages have been meticulously planned and flawlessly executed.
Site Preparation and Ground Improvement Works
The initial phase of the project commenced with detailed topographic and geotechnical surveys, followed by construction planning to determine the terrain and subsurface conditions. Based on the findings, ground improvement techniques were employed to ensure the structural stability of each turbine foundation. Plastic bored piles and geogrid reinforcement were utilized to enhance the bearing capacity of the foundation soils, ensuring that high loads from the turbines would be safely transferred to the subgrade. These improvement measures guarantee the long-term stability and performance of the turbines.
Turbine Foundations and Infrastructure Works
Upon completion of the ground improvement works, construction proceeded with the installation of specially designed reinforced concrete foundations for each turbine. These foundations were engineered to withstand both static and dynamic loads generated by the turbine towers. During the foundation works, anchor bolt assemblies for tower connections and grouting operations were completed. In addition, conduit systems for electrical cabling, ensuring the connection of the turbines to the grid, were embedded within the foundation structure. To protect against groundwater ingress and extend service life, high-standard waterproofing and subsurface drainage systems were applied.
Logistics and Access Infrastructure
The erection of wind turbines requires the safe transport of oversized and heavy components to the project site. Therefore, one of the most critical phases of the project was the construction of access roads and turbine assembly platforms. Earthworks were executed according to site conditions, involving excavation and backfilling operations to create stable platforms capable of withstanding heavy lifting operations.
To ensure the durability and safety of access routes, roadside drainage ditches were constructed in accordance with the topography. At road crossings, reinforced concrete culverts compliant with State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) standards were installed to facilitate the controlled discharge of stormwater and surface runoff. These infrastructure works ensure reliable access and effective drainage management throughout the operational lifespan of the project.
Project Summary and Achievements
Within the scope of this project, all necessary civil and infrastructure works for the installation of 8 wind turbines have been successfully completed. Site surveys, ground improvement, anchor bolt installation, grouting works, reinforced concrete foundation construction, waterproofing, drainage systems, and access infrastructure have all been executed in strict compliance with the highest quality and safety standards. The completed infrastructure provides a robust and reliable foundation for the generation of renewable energy from wind power.
