Yücel Eko Tarım Bandırma Res Project

Construction of 2 Turbine Platforms, Foundations, Access Roads, and Culverts

Total Installed Capacity: 6.8MW

Balıkesir - Bandırma, Turkey
Completed 2021

This project, carried out by Yücel Eko Tarım in Bandırma, encompasses the installation of a total of two wind turbines, the construction of the associated switchgear facilities, and the construction of a control management building. Aiming to make a significant contribution to sustainable energy production, this complex project has completed all processes, from land preparation to the final installation of the turbines, in accordance with the highest engineering and safety standards.

Site Preparation and Turbine Foundation Construction

The first and most critical phase of the project began with detailed site surveys and work planning tailored to the topographical and geological structure of the land for each turbine. These preliminary studies ensured that all construction processes were carried out flawlessly and efficiently.

Reinforced concrete foundations were meticulously constructed to ensure each turbine could withstand high static and dynamic loads. This process continued with the pouring of grout concrete to create a solid ground after the excavation of the foundation areas. Formwork and rebar installation were carried out to form the main load-bearing structure of the foundations, followed by the completion of the turbine foundation reinforced concrete works. Anchoring systems providing a secure connection between the turbine tower and the foundation, as well as electrical conduit for power transmission, were also installed prior to the reinforced concrete pouring. Finally, grout pouring was carried out to strengthen the structural integrity of the foundation.

To protect the foundations against groundwater and moisture, waterproofing and drainage system applications, another important component of the project, have been implemented. This waterproofing and drainage system ensures the long-term durability of the structures.

Logistics and Infrastructure Manufacturing

The installation of two turbines is a complex logistics operation requiring the transportation and assembly of heavy and bulky equipment. Therefore, access roads and turbine installation platforms were constructed with great care for the turbine installation in the project. Excavation and filling works carried out in accordance with the challenging conditions of the terrain ensured the safe movement of heavy cranes and transport vehicles. These roads and platforms were delivered in compliance with testing standards and made ready for operational use.

To ensure the durability and sustainability of the transportation routes, water ditches were constructed according to the topography of the terrain. At road crossings, reinforced concrete culverts compliant with DSİ (State Hydraulic Works) standards were built to allow for the controlled drainage of surface water flow.

Switchyard and Control Building Construction Works

The switchyard and control management building, which are the heart of the wind power plant, have also been completed as part of this comprehensive project. The switchyard ensures that the energy produced is safely transferred to the grid, while the control management building ensures that all operational processes of the facility are monitored, controlled, and managed 24/7.

This project is an exemplary case study of how turnkey projects in the wind energy sector can be successfully executed. Every stage, from the initial site surveys to the completion of the foundations, logistics, and infrastructure work for the turbines, was carried out without compromising on quality and safety standards.
